Wet blue leather is the process of converting raw hides and skins to tanned leather using chromium salts. The hides becomes blue when chromium salts are added. The trade terminology “wet blue” means the hides is free of hair and its tanned, the hides is wet at this stage. Tanner buy wet blue stock to produce several type of products such as shoes, garments, leather, and unholstery.
